What’s in a Name?

July 13, 2007

I’ve not yet mentioned this on our blog, but our second baby, a son, is on the way. September 1.

His first name will mean “God is my judge.” His middle name will mean “God is gracious.”

The gospel in a name! Inspired by Exodus 34.

Exodus 34:6-7 6 The LORD passed before (Moses) and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, 7 keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty…

Although you won’t find his name in Exodus 34, I’m sure some of you will come up with it.

    I love Google…

Although, it has lead me to believe that perhaps your baby’s middle name could be “Elchanan.”

I’m not saying that’s a bad choice… it would go nicely with the first name.

Hint on the middle name - it’s not Greek or Hebrew. No use guessing the middle name probably, there’s a bunch of names that mean “God is gracious.”

I haven’t commented yet on the new site… (fyi - comments here are far more cumbersome than blogspot…) I like it!

Hope you two are well. We need to play together SOON!

AND - I like the name. Thanks for the google tip Dawn! I think I would have gone there on my own, but you helped take me there more quickly (heehee).

Last night I had a dream that Lacey had the baby and I found out by reading the announcement. It said that the baby’s middle name was…
UabbUabba and that it was pronounced “WebWeb”. I have strange dreams. Just ask Brian!

Debbie - how prophetic! You’re the first person to guess the right name!

Got something to say?
